Hey hooo!! Diddly here with ‘Swallows and Amazons’ adventurous news. And when I say news I mean gifts and HOLIDAYYYYS ? for y’all my fantabulous sweeties.

To celebrate the release of the family adventure Swallows And Amazons in cinemas August 19th, StudioCanal & Canopy & Stars are giving one lucky winner the chance to recreate the spirt of the film and win a Sawday’s Canopy & Stars glamping holiday in the English countryside + a £1000 cash prize.  And if that wasn’t enough Studio Canal have also teamed up with Visit England to create a free online guide offering all the ingredients you need to embark on your own family adventure this summer, inspired by Swallows and Amazons

Who are the ‘Swallows’ ? Who are the ‘Amazons’ ?

An enchanting new take on the beloved novel by Arthur Ransome, Swallows & Amazons tells the story of the Walker children, whose summer holiday in the Lake District sees them sailing out on their own to a local island, only to find themselves in competition with a rival group of children who call themselves the Amazons and ultimately an adventure far bigger than they could have imagined.  As a desperate battle for ownership of the island ensues, the real dangers of an adult world on the brink of war encroach on their paradise in the form of a mysterious pair of Russian spies hot on the tail of the enigmatic Jim Turner. As the sleepy British summer is turned on its head, the children must learn skills of survival, responsibility, and the all-important value of friendship.

Starring Rafe Spall (Life of Pi, I Give it a Year), Andrew Scott (Sherlock, Spectre) Kelly Macdonald (Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Brave) Jessica Hynes (Twenty Twelve, Shaun of the Dead) and Harry Enfield (Harry Enfield and Chums), Swallows And Amazons is an exciting and heart-warming adventure released this summer on August 19th.

Let’s catch some dreams: The BFG DREAM JAR TRAIL

in Fandom Must-See

Hello, this is Diddly. I thought since the world has gone cray cray, I should make my writing debut by sharing something beautiful. Let’s catch some dreams or even better let’s make some dreams reality…not necessarily our dreams but children’s dreams around the world.

This summer, the streets of London are transformed with magical giant Dream Jars to celebrate Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday – the world’s number one storyteller and The BFG  movie which is in cinemas in the UK and Ireland now.

(run to watch it, if not already regardless your age)

The talents of two of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl and Steven Spielberg – finally unite to bring Roald Dahl’s beloved classic The BFG  to life. Directed by Spielberg, The BFG tells the extraordinary tale of a young girl named Sophie and the Big Friendly Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant County. Together they embark on a marvellous and buckswashling adventure filled with snozzcumbers, dream jars, frobscottle and even the Queen! The mismatched pair forms an unlikely friendship that will inspire enormous bravery in the BFG and give Sophie a taste of the family she dreams of.

This new public art installation called The BFG Dream Jar Trail which has been jointly organised by Save the Children, the Roald Dahl Literary Estate, Entertainment One and and supported by Unilever, are currently being on display in London and other parts of the UK  until the 31st of August. (If I weren’t so shy I would even blow you a kiss ya all *blushes)

The unique trail has seen the childhood dreams and aspirations of 50 celebrated famous people (Steven Spielberg, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, Professor Stephen Hawking, Dominic West, Maisie Williams, Mr. Buzz Aldrin, Dame Helen Mirren &  The Delevingne sisters amongst others) transformed into sculptures by talented artists. The whimsical sculptures have been placed in giant Dream Jars up to six feet tall to form an art trail in London and across the UK for everyone to see for free this summer.

(you may have already stumbled upon a jar of dreams! Lucky ya)

I have a video for y’ all sweet human beans and make sure to plan your visit so you don’t miss out on this “absolutely squiffling” experience this summer!

Rumour has it that the GIANT jars belong to The BFG himself who mislaid them during his night time wanderings delivering dreams to the children of the world. Follow The BFG Dream Jar Trail to help the friendly giant find his missing jars – you can find them  in some gloriumptious locations around the UK. Most are in London in iconic spots such as Tower BridgeTrafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, Leicester Square and Buckingham Palace but you’ll also discover some in BirminghamCardiffGlasgow and Cheshire.

THE REASON WHY THIS IS SO Whoopsy wiffling!!!

The trail helps raise money for Save the Children to support their vital work in some of the toughest places in the world so that every child has the chance to make their dreams come true. It will also benefit a specialist nursing programme supported by Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. The jars are being auctioned in collaboration with Paddle8 to raise money for both causes.

And everybody wins so *high five* dreamers!!

“My dream is to be in my swimming costume underwater, when suddenly out of the blue comes a GIGANTIC SPERM WHALE. He swims right up to me and we are nose to nose. He’s huge and I’m very, very tiny, but we swim along together under the ocean waves.”

A Whale’s Tale, Maisie Williams

“I had a childhood dream of having all of the sweets in the whole world. All kids naturally dream big, no matter what you dream of you should relish that dream.”

Sweet Dreams, Steven Spielberg
